Dana Nurse currently serves as the Director of Inclusive Assessment Development at the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards since July 2023. Previously, Dana held the position of Director of Culturally Responsive Education at Youth Communication from February 2022 to July 2023, and worked as an Assessment Manager at the NYC Department of Education from August 2015 to April 2022, where responsibilities included developing ELA assessment items for the Specialized High School Admissions Test. Additional experience includes roles as a Special Education Teacher at The New York Public Library and Program Manager at The Hip Hop Transformation, focusing on literacy and cultural education. Dana has also presented on topics related to intersectionality at the National Conference of Race and Ethnicity. Educational qualifications include a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Emerson College and two Master of Education degrees from St. John's University in Special Education and Teaching.
