Jill Bryant, OD, MPH, currently serves as the Executive Director of the National Board of Examiners in Optometry®, a position held since August 2015, with previous roles including Interim Executive Director and Chief Operating Officer. Bryant was President of the North Carolina Optometric Society from June 2016 to June 2017. From August 2005 to June 2015, Bryant worked at Duke Eye Center as an Optometrist and Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology, also serving as Director of Contact Lens. Educational credentials include a Doctor of Optometry and Master of Public Health from Nova Southeastern University (2000-2004) and a Bachelor’s degree from Appalachian State University (1996-2000).

Established in 1951, the National Board of Examiners in Optometry (NBEO) is an independent, non-governmental, non-profit organization whose examinations are universally accepted for optometric licensure in the United States and accepted internationally. NBEO's mission is to serve the public and profession of optometry by developing, administering, scoring, and reporting results of valid examinations that assess competence.
