Clifford Mtemeri has a diverse work experience in the financial sector. Clifford started their career in 2006 as the Head of Risk at Beverley Building Society. Clifford then moved on to Interfin Banking Corporation where they held the position of Head of Risk from 2008 to 2010. Following this, they worked as a Corporate Finance Manager at Interfin Capital Africa (Pvt) Ltd from 2010 to 2012. Clifford later joined Tetrad Investment Bank, where they served as the Senior Manager of Corporate Finance and later as the Head of Credit Management from 2012 to 2015.
In 2015, Clifford Mtemeri joined NBS (National Bank of Samoa) as the Head of Credit, where they worked until 2020. During their time at NBS, they held various roles including Head of Structured Finance and eventually Head of Corporate and Institutional Banking, starting in February 2023.
In 2021, Clifford Mtemeri took up a position at the National Social Security Authority of Zimbabwe (NSSA) as the Acting Deputy Director of Investments, a role they held until October 2022.

Clifford Mtemeri received their first degree, a B.Comm in Actuarial Science, from the National University of Science and Technology in 2003. In 2017, Clifford enrolled at Stellenbosch Business School and completed a Master of Philosophy in Development Finance in 2019.
