Jamal Smith possesses extensive experience in counseling and occupational therapy, currently serving as a Counselor at National Capital Treatment & Recovery since April 2020, where responsibilities include supporting adults with co-occurring substance use and mental health conditions. Previous roles include Occupational Therapy Student at MedStar National Rehabilitation Hospital and Occupational Therapy Assistant at HealthPRO Heritage, focusing on improving clients' quality of life and motor skills. Smith has also gained valuable experience in housing counseling as a HUD Certified-Housing Counselor and a Licensed Loan Officer. Jamal Smith is currently pursuing a Doctor of Occupational Therapy degree at Howard University, building on an Applied Associates of Science in Occupational Therapy from Northern Virginia Community College and a Bachelor of Science in Journalism from St. John's University.
