Omar Rodriguez is a Sustainable Agriculture Specialist at the National Center for Appropriate Technology since April 2017, focusing on developing training materials and events to assist rural populations in overcoming challenges and accessing opportunities in sustainable farming practices. Prior to this role, Omar served as an Agriculture Extension Volunteer with the Peace Corps from September 2012 to December 2014, where efforts were concentrated on sustainable farming for food security and the establishment of a successful farmer cooperative. Earlier experience includes positions as a Junior Specialist and Student Intern at UC Davis, contributing to research on climate change effects on agricultural crops and nitrogen deposition impacts on native grasslands. Omar holds a Bachelor’s Degree in International Agricultural Development from the University of California, Davis, and an Associate’s Degree in Physical Sciences and Economics from DeAnza College.
