Daniel Bahman Shad

As Director of Development, Daniel Bahman Shad oversees all aspects of fundraising including engaging individual donors, foundation proposals, corporate partnerships, and fundraising events. He joined NCTE in 2017 as the Development Manager where he created and managed the organization’s Capital Club and coordinated all fundraising events, including the annual Trans Equality Now Awards. Prior to joining NCTE, Daniel worked on the Leadership Gifts team for the ACLU National Office and as the Event Manager for NYC Pride. As an activist in the LGBTQ equality movement for over 12 years – beginning with his work opposing California’s ban on marriage for gay and lesbian couples, Prop 8 – he is thrilled for the opportunity to devote his time, energy, and skills towards raising money to benefit the trans community.

Daniel earned a Master of Public Administration with an emphasis in Nonprofit Management & Policy from New York University. He also holds a dual Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Criminology from the University of California, Irvine.
