National Centre for Vocational Education Research (NCVER)
The National Centre for Vocational Education Research (NCVER) provides data and research about Australia’s training system to governments, industry, training providers and other organisations to inform their decisions and shape policies. At NCVER, we collect and analyse data about vocational students and the courses they study, apprenticeships and traineeships, and survey students on the outcomes of their training and employers about how they use training to meet their skill needs. NCVER also manages national research programs that align with research priorities that are determined by governments and the wider community, as well as the Longitudinal Surveys of Australian Youth. From adult and community education to youth, NCVER has a wealth of research freely available from our Portal. On a consultancy basis, we bring together our highly-skilled staff to undertake projects on the training needs of diverse groups, analysis of industry skill requirements, program evaluations, and a wide range of national training policy and practice issues.
