Museum Operations Associate at National Children's Museum

Katherine Hoppe has a diverse range of work experience in various organizations. Katherine currently works as a Museum Operations Associate at the National Childre. Previously, they served as an Office Administrator at the National Firearms Museum from August 2016 to February 2020.

Katherine was also involved with the D.C. Emerging Museum Professionals as a Co-Chair from August 2016 to October 2018.

Their experience in the Children's Science Center involved being a Youth Programs Coordinator, where they facilitated meetings of the Youth Leadership Council, managed students' performances at Family Science Nights, and focused on promoting STEM education for middle school students. Katherine's experience also includes being a Collections Intern at The Field Museum in July 2014, where they updated and prepared online files of collections for catalog entry.

Lastly, they pursued a Master's Degree in Museum Studies at George Washington University from 2012 to 2014.

Katherine Hoppe obtained a Bachelor's degree in History from the University of Notre Dame from 1999 to 2003. Katherine then pursued a Master's degree in Cultural Anthropology at The Catholic University of America from 2008 to 2011. In 2012, Katherine completed a Graduate Certificate in Museum Studies at The George Washington University. Additionally, they obtained several certifications, including Open Water Scuba Diver from the Professional Association of Dive Instructors in July 2012, Actor/Combatant from the Society of American Fight Directors in April 2010, National Associate Membership from The Smithsonian Institution in May 2011, and Friends of Vindolanda from Vindolanda Roman Army Fort and Museum in January 2007.
