Louise MCleary

Louise McCleary has been the interim vice president of Division III since February 2021. She brings to the position more than two decades of administrative experience within the division.

She joined the NCAA in 2012 as director of Division III before being promoted to managing director of the division in September 2017.

McCleary had been the athletics director at Elms since 2002 after spending time at Vassar, first as an associate athletics director and then as interim athletics director. She started her career at Tri-State University (now known as Trine), first as an assistant women’s basketball coach, then as a sports information director and assistant athletics director.

McCleary has a bachelor’s degree in political science and American studies from Wellesley and a master’s degree in sport management from Massachusetts.
