Lucy W. W. Gichaga, Ph.D., serves as the Retention Coordinator for the College of Arts and Sciences at Bowie State University, having transitioned from interim to full-time coordinator since August 2019. In addition to this role, Gichaga teaches communication courses and engages in research and university service as a Communications Faculty member. Participation in the BSU Fellow AASCU Institute of the Future workshop highlights a commitment to innovative educational initiatives. Gichaga contributes to the academic community as a conference and manuscript reviewer for various organizations, including the National Communication Association, SAGE Open, Journalism and Mass Communication Educator, and the Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication. Lucy holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Communication and Media Studies from Regent University, earned between June 2008 and December 2014.
