Graeme Barnes

Principal Research Engineer at National Composites Centre

Graeme Barnes is a seasoned engineering professional with extensive experience in composite design and engineering. As the Principal Research Engineer at the National Composites Centre since February 2018, Graeme has leveraged previous roles, including Composite Design Engineer at McLaren Automotive Ltd, and Design Engineer at McLaren Racing, where responsibilities included designing composite components for Formula 1 cars. Earlier experience includes positions at GTO - Ferrari as a Material Technician, Cyanamid Aerospace as a Cyform Program Engineer, and Courtaulds Structural Composites as a Project Engineer. Graeme holds a B.Eng Hons in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Plymouth and has foundational education in mathematics, physics, and mechanical drawing from Bournemouth School.
