Deirdre O'Grady serves as the Friends' Opera Course Director at the National Concert Hall Dublin since February 2020, leading an illustrated lecture series on opera. With a longstanding association with University College Dublin since 1969, Deirdre holds the title of Emeritus Professor of Italian and Comparative Studies, contributing to comparative criticism in theatre, opera, and ballet through a bi-annual journal. Deirdre has also held multiple academic titles, including Lecturer, Senior Lecturer, Associate Professor, and Full Professor, and specializes in Language and Translation Studies. As a member of the organizing committee for the 'Giornate Internazionali Francesca da Rimini' since June 2008, Deirdre engages in interdisciplinary research on Dante's work. Additionally, Deirdre serves on the editorial and publication board of the bilingual journal 'Theatre et Drame Musical' since 2004 and participated in Erasmus exchanges and various academic presentations throughout a notable educational career, obtaining degrees from Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore and University College Dublin.
