Karen Hansen

Karen Hansen has extensive experience in communications management, currently serving as the Director of Communications at the National Conference of State Legislatures since 2005. Previously, Karen held the role of Press Secretary and Communications Director for the Republican Caucus of the Michigan House of Representatives from 1980 to 1985. In that position, Karen managed press relations for a 52-member caucus, directing a team of 12 to effectively inform constituents and the public about caucus initiatives and policy issues through various communication channels. Additionally, Karen developed a strategic communication plan aimed at positioning the House GOP for a majority takeover.
