Lesley Kennedy began their work experience in 1997 as a Features Page Designer for The Palm Beach Post. From there, they worked as a Fashion Editor and Deputy Features Editor for the Rocky Mountain News, where they also wrote a daily blog and covered New York Fashion Week. In 2009, Lesley embarked on a freelance career, contributing as a Reporter and Editor for various national and regional clients. Lesley then moved on to roles such as a Fashion Contributing Writer for AOL StyleList and a News Editor, Reporter, and Editor for AOL ParentDish. Lesley joined ShopAtHome.com in 2013 as a Senior Managing Editor, where they created and managed a content syndication program. Lesley later became the Executive Editor for Elevation Media Group, Inc., leading editorial operations for multiple lifestyle magazines. Currently, Lesley Kennedy holds the position of Director of Publications and Digital Content at the National Conference of State Legislatures.

Lesley Kennedy attended the University of Iowa from 1991 to 1996, where they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Journalism and Mass Communication and English. Lesley furthered their education by earning a certificate in Marketing AI from Cornell University in August 2023.
