Oemer Sungur

Oemer Sungur has a diverse work experience that spans multiple industries and roles. In 2005, they started their career as a Science Teacher at Horizon International Bilingual School, where they worked until 2008 before moving to TIS International High School, where they continued to work as a Science Teacher until 2009. Following this, Oemer joined RTE University as a Research Assistant in September 2009, a role they held for seven years until September 2016. From 2016 to 2018, they pursued further training and language skill expansion through personal initiatives, online platforms, and volunteer organizations. In 2018, Oemer joined Ogansia AS as a Network Marketing Specialist but left the company in August 2020. Oemer then worked as a Cyber Security Analyst at CS Visor from April to July 2022, and later joined the National Cyber Group in July 2022 as a Cybersecurity Analyst. In November 2022, they joined e:fs TechHub GmbH as an Automotive Cybersecurity Specialist, staying until February 2023. Starting from April 2021, Oemer became an Advisory Board Member and Reporter at Academics at Risc e.V., a role they held until January 2023. In 2023, Oemer became a Member of the Management Board at Academics at Risk e.V., an association dedicated to supporting academics who are exiled or forced to leave their countries, focusing on their integration and adaptation process, as well as assisting with their application procedures and search for suitable positions in Master, PhD, or Post PhD programs.

Oemer Sungur has a diverse education history. In 2000, they enrolled in Bolu Abant İzzet Baysal University and completed their Bachelor's degree in Fachbereich Chemie (Bildungsprache: Englisch) in 2005. Following this, in 2010, they pursued a Master's degree in Natural Sciences at the Natural Sciences Institute of RTE University, which they completed in 2011.

In recent years, Oemer has focused on continuing education and obtaining various certifications. Oemer attended Technische Hochschule Ingolstadt from 2020 to 2022, where they earned Continuing Education College Certificates in Digitalisation & IT. Alongside their formal education, Oemer has actively pursued additional certifications in the field of cybersecurity and information technology.

These certifications include ISO 27001 - Information Security Management System Foundations from the National Cyber Group, Proofpoint Certified DLP Specialist 2022, Security Awareness Training from Proofpoint, Usable Security from the University of Maryland, Google IT Support Certificate, IBM Cybersecurity Analyst, Microsoft Azure certifications, NSE 3: Network Security Associate from Fortinet, OWASP Top 10 - 2021 Specialization from Infosec, Splunk Knowledge Manager from Splunk, and various others. Their most recent certification is Comptia Security +, obtained in July 2022.

It is also worth noting that Oemer has engaged in additional training related to academic project proposal writing and ISO 27001.
