Tzili Mor

Senior Advisor for Gender & Democracy at National Democratic Institute

zili Mor is a Senior Advisor at NDI focusing on gender, women and democracy globally. She previously co-led global advocacy and policy at CARE International, oversaw the Landesa Center for Women’s Land Rights, directed Georgetown Law’s International Women’s Human Rights Clinic, spearheaded human rights initiatives for the American Bar Association Rule of Law Initiative and the International Development Law Organization, and coordinated Amnesty International’s human rights defenders program.

She worked with governments, multilateral institutions, and civil society actors to advance gender-responsive, socially-equitable programs, legal reforms, and policy-making and to craft creative advocacy for equal access to rights, resources, and redress. She authored numerous pioneering publications, including feminist rule of law reform guidance and gender-transformative land and climate justice interventions for UN Women and UNCCD.

As a descendant of Holocaust survivors born into a regional conflict, human rights, atrocity prevention, and anti-militarism advocacy have been constant and formative themes in her personal and professional life. Tzili holds a Juris Doctor, a Master of Law (LLM) and a Master of Science in Foreign Service focused on international relations, development, and human rights from Georgetown University and a dual Bachelor Degree in Psychology and Art History from the University of California, Los Angeles.
