Elizabeth Layman

Director, Health Equity at National Disability Institute

Elizabeth Layman, MPH, is a dedicated professional in health equity and public health, currently serving as the Director of Health Equity at the National Disability Institute since January 2021. In this role, Elizabeth established a first-of-its-kind equity advising group and spearheaded a notable proposal for autonomous vehicles aimed at enhancing mobility for individuals with disabilities. Previous experience includes a position as a Public Health Nutrition Intern at the D.C. Department of Aging and Community Living, where Elizabeth designed a program to improve nutrition counseling, and roles at The Ear Foundation and the World Institute on Disability, focusing on project management, research dissemination, and advocacy. Elizabeth holds a Master of Public Health in Nutrition from The George Washington University and a Bachelor's degree in English with a minor in Disability Studies from the University of California, Berkeley.
