Shannon Edam, MA, MEd, is a Research Associate at the National Disability Institute, focused on legislation and policy related to disability employment across the United States since November 2017. Previously, Shannon served as Project Coordinator for both the Vocational Rehabilitation Technical Assistance Center and the Workforce Innovation Technical Assistance Center, where responsibilities included connecting financial institutions with State Vocational Rehabilitation Agencies and organizing events to improve employment outcomes for individuals with disabilities. Prior experience includes roles at Pathways to Housing DC, where Shannon successfully ended homelessness for individuals with mental health disabilities, and American University, where a master's degree in Ethics, Peace and Global Affairs was earned alongside teaching and research responsibilities. Shannon holds a M.Ed. from Lesley University and a BA in International Relations from Humboldt State University.
