Talyaa Najam currently serves as an Assistant Manager at the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) Pakistan since February 2024, holding the position of PPP-07/BPS-17 officer. Prior experience includes a role as a Teacher Assistant at the National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST) from October 2020 to March 2023, where responsibilities involved conducting lab demonstrations and assisting in the preparation of educational materials. Talyaa also interned at Lady Reading Hospital in 2018, focusing on solid waste management monitoring and reporting, and at the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) in 2017, where the role involved reviewing Initial Environmental Examinations (IEEs) and Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs). Talyaa Najam holds a Master’s degree in Environmental Science from NUST and a Bachelor’s degree in the same field from the University of Peshawar.

National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), is the lead agency at the Federal level to deal with whole spectrum of Disaster Management Activities. It is the executive arm of the National Disaster Management Commission (NDMC), which has been established under the Chairmanship of the Prime Minister, as the apex policy making body in the field of Disaster. In the event of a disaster all stakeholders, including Government Ministries/Departments/Organizations, Armed Forces, INGOs, NGOs, UN Agencies work through and from part of the NDMA to conduct one window operation.
