Gretchen Shaw has extensive experience in the field of domestic violence and advocacy. Gretchen is currently the Vice President of Programs at the National Domestic Violence Hotline, where they started in 2022. Prior to that, they worked at the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence, joining the organization in 2005. During their tenure there, they held various roles, including Deputy Director, Development Partnership Manager, and Manager of Projects and Communications. Before joining the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence, Gretchen worked as the Express and Group Sales Manager at the Millenium Harvest House Hotel in Boulder from 2003 to 2005. Gretchen also worked at the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence from 2000 to 2003, first as the Events Manager and later as the Membership and Communications Manager. Their career in the field began at the Alabama Coalition Against Domestic Violence, where they served as the Communications Coordinator from 1998 to 2000.

Gretchen Shaw received their Bachelor of Arts degree in English Language and Literature from Auburn University. Gretchen attended Auburn University from 1990 to 1994.
