Wasan Pattara-Atikom

Principal Researcher at NECTEC

Wasan Pattara-atikom has a diverse work experience in the field of research and technology. Wasan started their career at Internet Thailand Co Ltd, where they worked as a System and Network Engineer from 1995 to 1996. Wasan then joined the National Electronics and Computer Technology Center (NECTEC) as an Assistant Researcher from 1996 to 1997. Wasan worked at the University of Pittsburgh as a Technical Support staff in 1998 and then as a Graduate Teaching Assistant from 1998 to 1999. Wasan had a research internship at NEC Laboratories Europe from 2003 to 2004. Wasan's research career continued at NECTEC, where they worked as a Researcher from 2005 to 2008. Wasan was later promoted to Senior Researcher and served as the Team Leader in the Road Traffic Estimation and Dissemination Project (Traffy) from 2008 to 2012. In 2012, Wasan joined the Ministry of Science and Technology and worked as a Staff to the Deputy Prime Minister until 2014. Wasan also held the position of Staff to the Ministry of Science and Technology from 2012 to 2012. Currently, Wasan serves as the Principal Researcher and Head of Intelligent Transportation Laboratory at NECTEC since 2012.

Wasan Pattara-atikom completed their Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering at Khon Kaen University from 1991 to 1995. They then pursued a Master of Science (M.S.) in Telecommunications Engineering from the University of Pittsburgh, which took place from 1998 to 2000. In addition, they obtained a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) in Business Administration and Management, General from the University of Pittsburgh Katz Graduate School of Business, spanning from 2001 to 2003. Lastly, they completed a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Library and Information Science at the University of Pittsburgh from 2000 to 2005.
