Nicholas Benequista, Ph.D. has extensive work experience in the field of international media assistance, communication for development, and research and communications in the development sector. Nicholas has held various positions, including Senior Director at the National Endowment for Democracy, Senior Program Specialist at the International Development Research Centre, Associate Director and Research Manager & Editor at the Center for International Media Assistance. Nicholas has also worked as a consultant for the Institute of Development Studies and an advisor for CommsConsult Ltd. Additionally, they have worked as a freelance specialist in communication for development and as a correspondent for The Christian Science Monitor. Prior to that, they were a Bureau Chief for Bloomberg LP in Mexico.

Nicholas Benequista, Ph.D. obtained their Doctor of Philosophy degree in Communication and Media Studies from The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) between 2011 and 2016. Prior to that, they earned an Mphil degree in International Development Studies from the University of Sussex from 2004 to 2006. Nicholas's bachelor's degree in Anthropology was obtained from the University of Arizona between 1993 and 1998. Nicholas also holds a diploma from St. Gregory College Preparatory School, which they completed between 1989 and 1993.
