P.J. Louis has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and organizations. From 2004 to 2015, P.J. Louis served as the President of PJ Louis LLC, a consultancy providing restructuring services to companies. In 2011, P.J. Louis joined the Board of Directors of Lifting Up Westchester, a social services organization. Starting in 2012, P.J. Louis became actively involved with the Boy Scouts of America, holding various leadership positions in the Westchester-Putnam Council as an Executive Vice President, Vice President of Membership, and District Chairman. In 2016, P.J. Louis joined the Westchester-Putnam Council's Executive Committee. From 2019 to 2020, P.J. Louis served as the Council Chairman of the Board for the Westchester-Putnam Council. In 2021, P.J. Louis transitioned to the Greater Hudson Valley Council, serving as the Council Chairman of the Board until 2022. Currently, P.J. Louis holds the position of Director of Technical Planning at the National Exchange Carrier Association, Inc. P.J. Louis also continues to volunteer with the Boy Scouts of America as an Executive Board Member and District Chair.

P.J. Louis completed their Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) from Columbia University's School of Engineering and Applied Science, where they studied from 1977 to 1981. After a gap of several years, they pursued further education and obtained a Master of Science (MS) degree in Technology Management from New York University's Tandon School of Engineering. This degree was earned between 1986 and 1991. Currently, P.J. Louis is engaged in their Doctor of Professional Studies (DPS) in Computing - Information Technology at Pace University, which they have been undertaking since 2017 and is expected to complete in 2023.
