National Fallen Firefighters Foundation (NFFF)
Timothy S. Cowan is a highly experienced fire service professional, currently serving as Deputy Fire Chief at Dewitt Fire District since October 2005. Cowan holds multiple positions including Peer Reviewer at the Center for Public Safety Excellence, Fire Marshal for the Town of Lenox, and Deputy Fire Coordinator with Madison County Fire and Emergency Services. Additional roles include Code Enforcement Officer in both the Village of Munnsville and Village of Madison, and Firefighter/EMT at Canastota Fire Department since August 1992. Cowan is also the Region 2 Advocate Manager at the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation and has served as a Committee Member for the International Code Council. Educationally, Cowan is pursuing a Fire Marshal Designation and Fire Officer Designation from the Center for Public Safety Excellence, and holds degrees from the National Fire Academy and SUNY Empire State College, culminating in a Bachelor of Professional Studies in Fire and Emergency Management.

National Fallen Firefighters Foundation (NFFF)
The United States Congress created the NFFF to lead a nationwide effort to remember America's fallen firefighters. Since 1992, the non-profit foundation has developed and expanded programs to honor fallen fire heroes and assist their families and coworkers.The NFFF also works closely with the fire service and life safety organizations to help prevent and reduce line-of-duty deaths and injuries.
