Emily Carlson

Emily Carlson currently holds the position of Senior Media Manager at the National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) since June 2019. Prior to this role, Emily served as the Main Anchor and Energy Reporter at KTVA CBS 11 News from August 2013 to September 2018, where responsibilities included writing, producing, and leading the 6 p.m. newscast. Emily's extensive journalism experience also includes serving as a Political Reporter and Anchor at WHO-HD, where coverage focused on state and local politics, notably the Iowa Caucuses. Earlier career positions include roles as a Reporter and Anchor at WICD and KEYC News 12, where Emily developed strong skills in gathering, writing, and delivering news. Emily earned a Bachelor of Arts in Broadcast Journalism and English from the University of St. Thomas from 2001 to 2005.
