John Donley

State President, Rhode Island Fraternal Order of Police at National Fraternal Order of Police

John Donley has extensive work experience in law enforcement. John began their career as a Reserve Police Officer at the Swansea Police Department in July 2005. John then transitioned to a Patrol Officer role in December 2005, where they served until August 2008. In August 2008, John joined the Pawtucket Police Department as a Patrol Officer. John worked in this role for nine years before being promoted to Patrol Sergeant in August 2017. In June 2022, they furthered their career at the Pawtucket Police Department by becoming a Sergeant in the Prosecution Division. Additionally, in October 2020, John assumed the position of State President for the Rhode Island Fraternal Order of Police within the National Fraternal Order of Police.

John Donley completed their Master's degree in Criminal Justice at Boston University, with an educational tenure that lasted until 2010. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice/Political Science from Roger Williams University, completing their undergraduate studies from 2002 to 2006.
