Laura Hernandez

Bilingual Story Time Educator at National Gallery of Art

Laura Hernandez currently serves as a Learning Program Specialist at Smithsonian's National Zoo and Conservation Biology Institute since January 2023, where additional roles include Education Programs Facilitator and Nature Play Facilitator. Concurrently, Laura works as a Bilingual Story Time Educator at the National Gallery of Art since June 2023. Previous experience includes positions at Planet Word as a Word Associate from September 2022 to April 2023, and at Mary's Center as a Community Engagement Manager and Development Coordinator from December 2020 to May 2022. Laura also contributed as a Volunteer Services Associate at Interfaith Community Services from August 2018 to December 2020, and as a Volunteer Engagement AmeriCorps VIP Fellow at North County Lifeline from September 2017 to July 2018. Educational qualifications include a Masters of Arts in Teaching with a focus on Museum Education from The George Washington University, and a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology from California State University San Marcos. Additionally, Laura participated in a semester abroad at Fundación Cimas del Ecuador from 2015 to the present.
