Lynn Matheny

Lynn Matheny currently serves as the Deputy Head of Interpretation and Curator of Special Projects at the National Gallery of Art, a position held since June 2001, with prior roles including Deputy Head of Interpretation, Interim Head of Interpretation, Deputy Head and Associate Curator of Exhibition Programs, and Associate Curator. In addition to this role, Lynn Matheny is an Adjunct Professor of Art History at The George Washington University since January 2020. Academic credentials include a Ph.D. and M.A. in Art History from UCLA (1993-1999) and a B.A. in Art History and Comparative Area Studies from Duke University (1987-1991).
