Cheng Chen

Cheng Chen has over 25 years of experience in the electricity industry, specializing in the design, construction, and operation of electricity networks in the UK and China. Currently serving as the Head of Offline Modelling at National Grid ESO, they previously held various roles at National Grid, including Legal Separation Business Lead and GB Operability Assessment Manager. At China’s State Grid, Cheng led significant transmission projects and was instrumental in developing the World’s Largest Underground Substation Project in Shanghai. Cheng holds an MBA from The University of Hong Kong and an MSc in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from The University of Manchester, both with distinction.
