Christopher Hayton

Christopher Hayton currently serves as the Director of Corporate Affairs at National Grid, a position held since October 2022. Prior to this, Christopher was the Executive Director at Middlemarch Environmental Limited from January 2021 to October 2022. Christopher has significant experience in public affairs, having worked as Public Affairs Director for MAG (Airports Group) overseeing London Stansted, Manchester, and East Midlands Airports from July 2020 to January 2021. Additionally, Christopher was the Corporate Affairs Director at East Midlands Airport from July 2018 to July 2020, managing media relations, public affairs, communication strategies, and sustainability initiatives. Earlier roles include various positions at Anglian Water Services, culminating in the Head of Public Affairs from January 2011 to July 2018, following a trajectory that began with a Graduate Management Trainee position. Christopher holds a BSc (Hons) in Geography from Loughborough University, completed in 2010.
