Lucy Smith

Lucy Smith is an accomplished communications professional currently serving as the Group Director of Colleague Communications, Engagement and Culture at National Grid since January 2022. In this role, Lucy leads colleague communication strategies, enhancing engagement and driving cultural change within the organization. Prior to National Grid, Lucy worked as a Freelance Communications Consultant with LCS Creative Ltd and Ruder Finn, delivering strategic communications for various clients. Lucy's extensive experience at BT includes leading internal communications campaigns, acting as a communications business partner to the CEO of BT Global Services, and managing strategic narratives for transformation initiatives. Additionally, Lucy has held significant roles in South Wales Police and Her Majesty's Inspectorate of Constabulary, demonstrating a strong background in project management and corporate planning. Lucy holds a Law degree from the University of Wales, Cardiff, along with multiple certifications in project management and public relations.
