Michael Porcaro

Michael Porcaro, PE, is an experienced engineering professional currently serving as the Director of Innovative Grid Solutions at National Grid since July 2014, where responsibilities include leading a team in the development of Grid Modernization tools such as solar, battery, and generation management systems (DERMS), as well as flexible interconnection strategies. Previous roles include New England Distributed Generation Ombudsperson, Engineering Manager for Distribution Planning & Asset Management, and Lead Electrical Engineer at R.G. Vanderweil Engineers LLP from December 2005 to July 2014. Earlier career experience includes working as an Associate in the Electrical Group and as an Electrical Engineer in Field Services at Eaton from June 2004 to December 2005. Michael Porcaro holds a Master’s degree in Engineering with a focus on Power Systems and a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, both obtained from Worcester Polytechnic Institute.
