Rhian Kelly

Rhian Kelly is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in sustainability and corporate affairs. As Chief Sustainability Officer and Corporate Affairs Director at National Grid from May 2021 to September 2022, Rhian led initiatives focused on clean technologies and energy start-ups while advising on strategies to enhance reputation regarding net zero, particularly in the US. Prior to National Grid, Rhian spent over a decade at the Confederation of British Industry, serving as Director of Business Environment, where strategic policy development in infrastructure, housing, and energy was emphasized, and as Head of Climate Change, where groundbreaking initiatives positioned the CBI as a leader in climate policy. Rhian's earlier career included a role as Senior Business Manager at the European Union Chamber of Commerce in China, facilitating advocacy strategies and engagement with key stakeholders. Rhian holds an MA (Hons) degree in Politics, Social & Economic History from The University of Edinburgh and A levels in Geography, History, and English from Oakham School.
