Krasimir Vasilev, FRSC, currently serves as a member of the Australian Research Council (ARC) Medical Research Advisory Group and holds the position of Matthew Flinders Professor and Professor of Biomedical Nanotechnology at Flinders University, where Vasilev also directs the Biomedical Nanoengineering Laboratory. Vasilev’s expertise is recognized through roles such as NHMRC Leadership Fellow and member of the NHMRC Grant Review Panel, alongside contributions to the Ministry of Business, Innovation & Employment in New Zealand as a College of Assessors member. Previous leadership positions include Professorial Lead and Full Professor at the University of South Australia, where Vasilev managed strategic initiatives and academic responsibilities. Vasilev holds a PhD in Material Science from the Max Planck Institute for Polymer Research and a Master’s Degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Bourgas.
