Dr Matthew Rimmer is a Professor of Intellectual Property and Innovation Law at the Queensland University of Technology (QUT) since 2015, where Matthew also holds various roles including Chief Investigator in several research centers and Director of the Intellectual Property and Innovation Law Program. Rimmer's expertise encompasses copyright law, patent law, access to medicines, intellectual property related to climate change, Indigenous Intellectual Property, and 3D printing regulation. Previously affiliated with the Australian National University and the Australian Research Council, Rimmer has led multiple projects focused on the intersection of intellectual property and innovation, including research aimed at developing effective public health strategies against tobacco use. Rimmer holds a PhD in Law from UNSW and dual degrees in Law and Arts from The Australian National University.
