National Health Law Program defends and fights to expand the health and civil rights of those most in need and those with the fewest resources. They strive to give a voice to low-income individuals and families in federal and state policy making, promote the rights of patients in emerging managed-care health care systems, and advocate for a healthcare system that will ensure all people have access to comprehensive health care.

The Legal Team at the National Health Law Program provides legal expertise and advocacy to defend and advance the health and civil rights of low-income individuals and families. This team engages in litigation, policy analysis, and legislative advocacy to promote access to comprehensive healthcare, protect patient rights, and influence state and federal healthcare policy. They work collaboratively with other stakeholders, including pro bono partners, to achieve systemic change in healthcare laws and policies.
