Jimena Collado is an accomplished undergraduate researcher currently investigating abnormal nuclear morphology and nuclear ruptures related to diseases such as cancer at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. As a NHMA College Health Scholar, Jimena actively supports the initiative to advance health equity among Hispanic students aspiring to medical and research careers. Prior experience includes serving as an undergraduate research assistant at Northwestern University, focusing on the relationship between DNA damage and nuclear morphology. Jimena has participated in various scientific programs, including a preparatory research program and a specialized summer course in programming and cancer biology. Additionally, Jimena has worked as a tutor, teaching English through STEM subjects, and has engaged in community service aimed at diversifying the healthcare profession. Jimena holds a degree in Neuroscience and Molecular Biology from Northwestern University.
