Fabiola Villalpando is currently a Schreiber Fellow and Staff Attorney at the National Immigrant Justice Center, focusing on asylum cases since August 2022. Previous experience includes serving as an Associate Attorney at Beermann LLP from November 2020 to June 2022 and as a Law Clerk at Hurst, Robin & Kay, LLC from May 2018 to November 2020. Fabiola has also worked as a Student Clinician at the Civitas ChildLaw Clinic and held positions as a Legal Extern for the Mexican American Legal Defense and Educational Fund and a Law Student Volunteer for the Immigration Detention Project. Fabiola's early career includes a Social Work Intern role at Family Advocacy in Champaign County, and research experience at the University of Illinois' Children and Family Research Center. Educational qualifications include a Doctor of Law (JD) from Loyola University Chicago School of Law and a Bachelor of Social Work with minors in Business and Spanish from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
