Mayon Yen is an accomplished nonprofit leader with extensive experience in fundraising and program development. Currently serving as the Director of Development at the National Immigrant Justice Center since October 2019, Mayon oversees initiatives that generate over $10 million annually and successfully pivoted the Human Rights Awards to a virtual format during the COVID-19 pandemic, raising nearly $1 million. Prior experience includes managing substantial grant portfolios at the AIDS Foundation of Chicago, where Mayon secured $4.3 million in new funding and produced comprehensive reports for funders. Mayon’s career also includes impactful roles at APAIT, focusing on research and evaluation, and a strong academic foundation with a B.A. in Biological Sciences from the University of Chicago and an MPH in Community Health Sciences from UCLA.
