Kate Kahan

Executive Vice President, Programs at National Immigration Law Center

Kate Kahan serves as the Executive Vice President of Programs at the National Immigration Law Center since March 2024. Previously, Kate held the position of Chief of Strategy and Partnerships at the People's Action Institute from September 2022 to March 2024, and served as the Director of Federal Policy at the Vera Institute of Justice between September 2021 and September 2022. Additionally, Kate was the Legislative and Advocacy Director at Community Change from August 2008 to September 2021, and worked as the Director of Work and Family Programs at the National Partnership for Women & Families from January 2006 to August 2008. Earlier in the career, Kate contributed to the United States Senate Finance Committee as Professional Staff from January 2004 to January 2006, and was the Executive Director of an Economic Justice nonprofit from January 1999 to January 2004. Kate Kahan earned a degree from the University of Montana, completing studies from 1993 to 1999.
