Matthew Lopas is an experienced legal and policy advocate with a focus on immigrant access to healthcare and state-level reforms. Currently serving as the Deputy Director of State Advocacy at the National Immigration Law Center since September 2014, Matthew is responsible for developing strategic plans and leading initiatives to enhance immigrant health access. Previously, Matthew held roles including Manager of the Winning in the States Initiative, where Matthew advanced legislation regarding driver's licenses for undocumented individuals and other policy reforms. Matthew's background includes a Juris Doctor degree from American University Washington College of Law and a Bachelor's degree in Journalism and Political Science from Northwestern University. Additionally, Matthew's early career involved various internships in health policy and law, showcasing a commitment to advocacy and service.
