Director Talent Acquisition at National Indemnity Company

Alex Wood has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Most recently, they worked as the Director of Talent Acquisition at National Indemnity Company starting in 2022. Prior to that, they served as the Assistant Vice President for Equity and Inclusion/Campus Diversity Officer at Southwest Minnesota State University from July to November 2022.

Earlier in their career, Alex held various roles at South Dakota State University from 2014 to 2022, including Assistant Director of Multicultural Affairs, Retention Advisor for African American Programs, and Admissions Counselor.

Before joining South Dakota State University, they worked as a PTAC Consultant at the University of Nebraska at Omaha from 2013 to 2014. In addition, they served as a Defensive Coordinator/Assistant Football Coach at Wayne State College from 2008 to 2013, and as an Assistant Football Coach at the University of Nebraska at Omaha from 2006 to 2008.

Alex's earlier experiences include coaching positions at East Stroudsburg University, Hillside High School, Livingstone College, and Minnesota State University, Mankato. They held various roles such as Head Wrestling Coach, Exceptional Children support, and Assistant Head Football Coach.

Alex Wood completed a Bachelor of Arts degree in History from Winston-Salem State University from 1993 to 1996. Prior to that, from 1991 to 1993, they attended the University of Miami, studying History/Secondary Education. Most recently, from 2020 to 2021, Alex pursued a Master of Education degree in Counseling and Human Resource Development at South Dakota State University.
