Jess Magin has extensive experience in various roles within Australian government departments, focusing on management and administrative positions. Currently serving as Agreement Manager at the National Indigenous Australians Agency since November 2020, Jess previously held the position of Executive Assistant to the Regional Manager. Earlier roles include multiple contracts administration positions for the Australian Government Department of Education, Skills and Employment from September 2018 to November 2020, as well as experience as Executive Assistant to the State Manager and Indigenous Leader at the Australian Government Department of Education and Training from October 2015 to August 2018. Additional experience also encompasses a Compliance and Business Operations Officer role at the Department of Social Services and participation in the IAGDP at the Department of Education in Western Australia.

At the National Indigenous Australians Agency (NIAA), we are committed to supporting aspirations of First Nations peoples and removing barriers to ensure full and equal participation in the social and economic life of Australia. Our staff work collaboratively and in genuine partnership with communities to ensure policies, programs and services address their unique needs. Areas of focus include health and wellbeing, education, employment, economic development, culture and heritage, land and the environment, housing, community safety, Closing the Gap, supporting the Indigenous voice co-design process, and constitutional recognition.
