Zhitong Chen, a professor at SHENZHEN INSTITUTE OF ADVANCED TECHNOLOGY CHINESE ACADEMY OF SCIENCES and National Innovation Center for Advanced Medical Devices, previously was a postdoctoral researcher at University of California, Los Angeles. Chen holds a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from The George Washington University, a Master's degree in Engineering Mechanics from University of Chinese Academy of Sciences, and a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Northeast Agricultural University.

The National Innovation Center for Advanced Medical Devices, established in 2020, is the first innovation center of science and technology and industry in the biomedical and medical device fields in China.
