James Flynn is a skilled bioprocessing trainer and postdoctoral researcher at the National Institute for Bioprocessing Research and Training since May 2022, involved in the Cell Technology Group under the supervision of Prof. Michael Butler. Prior experience includes serving as a postdoctoral researcher and instrument scientist at the Bernal Institute, University of Limerick, where responsibilities encompassed managing MALDI-TOF facilities and analyzing commercial samples. James completed a PhD in Biomaterials at the University of Limerick, focusing on developing injectable hydrogels for antimicrobial therapies, and obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Biochemistry from the same institution. Previous roles include positions at Beckman Coulter and various other capacities in service and leadership.
