Dr. Johan Pauwels

Dr. Johan Pauwels is an accomplished healthcare professional with extensive experience in hospital administration and healthcare policy. Currently serving as the auditor for the hospitals team at the National Institute for Health and Disability Insurance (INAMI-RIZIV) since October 2019, Dr. Pauwels is also the general director of AZ Rivierenland and has held leadership roles at AZ Heilige Familie since 2016. With a strong background in medical leadership, previously serving as Chief Medical Officer at AZ Heilige Familie and a member of the board of governors at UZA, Dr. Pauwels has a significant impact on healthcare governance. Educationally, Dr. Pauwels holds a Doctor of Medicine degree in Paediatrics from the University of Antwerp and the University of Leuven.
