Mika Salminen

Mika Salminen is a prominent expert in public health with extensive experience in leadership roles. Currently, Mika serves as the Director General at the Finnish Institute for Health and Welfare (THL) since January 2017, where responsibilities include promoting population welfare, health, and safety. Prior positions include Research Professor and Director roles in various departments focusing on public health and infectious diseases at THL and the National Institute for Health and Welfare. Additionally, Mika holds an adjunct professorship in virology at the University of Helsinki.
