Isao Echizen is a Professor at the National Institute of Informatics and directs the Global Research Center for Synthetic Media, focusing on the development and detection of synthetic media across various modalities to ensure media reliability and support decision-making. In addition, Isao Echizen serves as a Research Director for the CREST FakeMedia project at the Japan Science and Technology Agency, addressing threats posed by AI-generated fake media while promoting effective communication technologies. Isao Echizen also holds a professorship at the University of Tokyo in the Department of Information and Communication Engineering. Prior experience includes a researcher role at Hitachi and a solid educational background from the Tokyo Institute of Technology.
