Kazuhiro Oiwa

Kazuhiro Oiwa is a Distinguished Researcher and Director General at the Advanced ICT Research Institute of the National Institute of Information and Communications Technology (NICT), where involvement includes advancing research in optics, quantum engineering, nano-technology, bio-technology, and human brain information technology. In addition, Kazuhiro Oiwa holds a joint appointment as Professor at the University of Hyogo since April 2000 and previously served as Group Leader for both the Biological ICT Group and Protein Biophysics Group at NICT from April 2001 to March 2008. Early career experiences include a visiting researcher position at the National Institute for Medical Research in London and an assistant professor role at Teikyo University. Educational qualifications include a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Biology and a Bachelor's Degree in Zoology/Animal Biology, both from the University of Tokyo.
