Rodney Weakly

Director, Systems And Security Engineering at National Jewish Health, Inc.

Rodney Weakly has an extensive work experience spanning various roles and industries. Rodney started their career in 1995 with the United States Air Force, serving as a Crew Chief-SSgt Wyoming Air National Guard until 2004. In 2000, they joined the City of Laramie as a Senior Information Systems Specialist, where they handled various systems for a 24/7 agency and led a $1.6 million software implementation project. From 2003 to 2017, Rodney worked at Albany County Government as the Information and Technology Director, responsible for managing a small team and overseeing IT projects and budgets. In 2018, they became a Cyber Security Instructor at the University of Denver, a role they held until 2019. Currently, Rodney is working at National Jewish Health, initially as a Security Analyst from 2017 to 2019, then as the Manager of Systems and Security Engineering from 2019 to 2022, and currently as the Director of Systems and Security Engineering.

Rodney Weakly earned a Master's degree in Computer Information Systems from Colorado State University between 2015 and 2017. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from the University of Wyoming College of Engineering and Physical Sciences in 2011. Additionally, they hold certifications such as Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) from (ISC)², obtained in 2016, and VMware Certified Professional 5 from VMware, obtained in December 2013.
